Use the 4255 Respiratory Mask when applying paint with a spray gun, brush, or roller, or when removing old paint by hand or orbital sander.
With the protection class A2-P3, the mask protects your respiratory system against gases from solvent-based paints, adhesives and cleaning agents as well as from particles of fine dust, oil, and water vapor. The gas filter protection class A2 is a middle-class respiratory protection; the P3 particle filter protection class offers you the highest possible protection. Two inhalation valves, the large combination filter, and a low-resistance exhalation valve make breathing easier than wearing a single-filter mask.
Since Model 4255 does not cover your whole head as a half mask, you only look halfway like an alien. With the right eye and ear protection, you can quickly perfect the look. Seriously: Protect your eyes and ears especially when grinding with the orbital sander.
You can use the 4255 Respirator multiple times until it becomes unusable due to damage, clogging of the particulate filters, or saturation of the gas filters. You'll see the end of its life when you can smell and taste paint fumes through the mask, or you must breathe through the mask much harder because particles clog the filters. Please do not wait until then to replace the mask, when you are fainting from the fumes.
Extend the life of the mask significantly (up to 30%) by pulling the 400 protective fleece over it while working. This prevents coarse particles from clogging the mask prematurely. Of course, the lifetime also depends on how often you use the mask and how high the pollutant concentration, humidity, and temperature is.
