This set of linocut instruments, which consists of a handy wooden handle and five interchangeable blades, is an excellent basis for performing linocut work because it enables you, by virtue of the differently shaped blades and gouges, to make all the important kinds of cuts necessary for linocut prints (and lightweight woodcut prints as well!). The veining tool with its small V shaped head is great for cutting fine lines while the embellishing tool with its small U shape is there to cut thicker lines. The two gouges are used to lift out small or larger areas; the contour cutter is indispensable for pre-cutting sharp edged lines and for post-processing. The blades have conical shafts that fit solidly into the wooden handle and can, by means of the ejector, be easily exchanged. The ejector is activated at the bottom of the handle and is pushed through the borehole that runs through the wooden handle, thereby pushing the blade free. All the different blades and the handle itself can all be bought separately.
