The teeth of the Super-Cut saw blades (universal blade) are individually set and sharpened. The carbide saw blade with 80 teeth is especially good for cutting material like NF metal and duroplastic plastic. The HSS blade is the right choice for making especially fine cuts (e.g. in cardboard). Carbide-tipped blades are, yes, more expensive but they do guarantee a longer service life and smoother surfaces at the cut. The blade with 20 teeth should be the first choice when you require a greater cutting performance or are working on large areas.
There are many factors involved in determining the service life and the quality of the cut of a saw blade. You should always use a grease lubricant when possible when working on any material besides wood. In the case of plastic, only a few drops of normal detergent will suffice and when working with NF metals a metal cutting lubricant should be applied to the surface of the material before cutting.
