Our professional quality stretcher frames are covered with a blended fabric of 75% cotton and 25% polyester. The cloth is stapled to the frame on the back. On the front it is primed twice white, on the back simply in a brownish natural tone. On the stretcher you can work with all common painting techniques.

There is no need to use a solvent when working with Cobra oil paint because both the paint and all the corresponding mediums will mix with water. This is possible because the oils have been modified so that water will not be repelled but instead will form a stable mixture of small drops of oil in water (= emulsion).

Cobra can be used for all conventional oil painting techniques (alla prima or wet-on-wet, layer over layer, etc.) up to and including glazing techniques. The result is the typical oil painting look in which the colour hues and brush strokes remain unchanged after drying. This professional quality artist paint is distinguished by its high content of finely ground pigments. All the colours are extremely lightfast (non-fading for at least 100 years under museum conditions). Half of the colours are mono-pigmented, which means that those paints have only one type of pigment and, when mixed, produce a very pure result.

This rather pasty paint can be worked with using bristle or synthetic fibre paintbrushes, palette knives or sponges. If heavily diluted, it can also be worked with using a watercolour brush. As with all oil paints, canvases that have been primered are the most suitable substrates for its application. Because it can be used without solvents, neither unpleasant odours nor unhealthy vapors will be produced with use and your painting utensils and your hands can be washed clean with soap and water.

How to do it: Divide the paper pulp into small pieces and soak in water. Grind the wet pulp in a blender or with a whisk. Pour the pulp into a deep container with plenty of water and sprinkle in the flowers. Stir the pulp and get it moving. Then lower the frame into the pulp and pull it back up horizontally when filled, allowing the paper pulp to settle in the frame and the water to drain through the built-in strainer. Carefully transfer the wet paper pulp to the absorbent rags provided, dab off excess liquid and allow to dry. This technique can be used to recycle a wide variety of scrap paper and create interesting surfaces, prints or motifs that can also be decorated with glitter, for example. If you use a single frame (instead of the double frame), you get more uneven, rustic paper edges.

You simply apply the required glue with the brush included in the scope of delivery. Then you attach the bookmark and the headband and place the book block in the binding. After gluing the endpapers, it is advisable to weigh the book down and let it dry overnight before using it as a recipe collection, diary or planner.

The conclusion expressed by one of our staff members at Modulor – a trained woman bookbinder – after making a test run with this bookbinding glue was: “It does exactly what it´s supposed to do”. In other words, it has a variety of uses and reliably creates the bonds you need for bookbinding work.

It is a dispersion glue that contains a plasticizer and becomes a colourless, transparent, resilient elastic film of glue when cured. The film is moisture-proof, resists yellowing and is aging-resistant. On the one hand, it can be used for glue bonds with or without gauze when making a book block and the like, or, on the other, for flat glue bonds on paper, cardboard and paperboard. When gluing plastic or paper that is coated with varnish or silicone you should switch to our Planatol AD94/5 glue.

The glue can be thinned up to 10% with water or moistened paste in order to increase its spreadability so it can be used for larger surface areas. In this case the paste alternative is better than water because the gluing strength of the mixture is thereby not decreased. Acrylic colours can be added to the glue if coloured bonds are needed, or you can add luminescent pigments – then the book spine or, alternatively, the notepad will glow in the dark!

Regarding aging-resistance: we cannot really certify this attribute because our glue was not put through the expensive testing necessary for certification but is indeed based on a synthetic resin, which on its own is acid-free and aging resistant, so our assumptions are not without basis.

This paper “for eternal generations” (“chi” means thousand, “yo” means generation(s), “gami” means paper) has a rich tradition and, with its brilliant colours, was originally used as a material to make small paper objects like puppets or boxes. Each individual sheet of machine-made white Kozu paper is printed by means of an elaborate screen printing process which is done by hand with the result that a typical white border is left free. We carry only a small selection chosen from among the myriad possible patterns that themselves are based on Japanese kimono materials. Some of the more than 1,000 traditional patterns go all the way back to the 17th century. There are two distinct groups: the Edo type (Edo is today’s Tokyo) with striped, chequered or cherry blossom-like patterns which come in one colour with only slight variations and the Kyoto type with many different motifs in many coloured resplendence.

This casting soap convinces with silky creamy foam and excellent cleaning effect. It can be dyed with soap color, perfumed with fragrant oils and customized with skin-caring oils.

Soap can either be microwaved (make sure to remove the cup label beforehand) or melted in a water bath - max. 65°C, filled into suitable moulds and left to cool.

Whether color-intensive or pastel shades, the soap colors can be mixed with each other, which makes a huge color palette available. Transparent soap color is especially for coloring transparent soap to keep the transparency of the soap despite coloring. Opaque soap color gives especially white soap a noble natural look. Both soap colors can be used in both transparent and white soap.

Homemade soap is always a special gift idea. With the various shapes, the soap can be produced even more individually to the personal preferences of the presentee. The silicone moulds are flexible, stable, heat-resistant and reusable. The movable silicone allows easy removal of the dried soap bars.

To have fun for a long time, you should stamp the rubber on a damp cloth after use until there are no more color residues.
