The "Knife Blade" allows you to cut very thick materials. Passepartout cardboard, leather, wood veneer and much more expand the design options you have with the Cricut Maker3.

There are a few points to note when using the knife blade:

• First, you must calibrate the blade after inserting it. The Design Space software will help you do this step by step.
• When cutting with the knife blade, please do not control your Cricut via tablet or smartphone. IOS and Android are not compatible at this point. Please use a laptop or desktop computer.
• Tape the edges of the material to the cutting mat with masking tape.
• In the plotter, push the white star wheels on the roll all the way to the right. Otherwise they will press on the material and leave marks.
• Cuts with the knife blade take an unusually long time and often one cutting pass is not enough. After the first cutting pass, Design Space will tell you how many more cuts need to be made. Your computer must not go into sleep mode (energy-saving mode) during the entire cutting process. Therefore, deactivate it before you start the cutting process.
• After the last cutting pass, Design Space will ask you whether you would like another cutting pass. Check that everything is cut as you expect it to be and let Design Space cut again if necessary.
• Do not open another tab in the browser while cutting. If you want to use your browser for other purposes, open it in another window.
