The transparency of these real, bulk dyed transparent papers is created only through the refinement of the cellulose, i.e. without any chemical treatment. The elutriated, lubriciously ground cellulose fibres are stirred until a gel is formed which is subsequently dyed, drained and dried. As a result of this whole process, transparent paper is considerably more sensitive to changes in temperature and moisture than other types of paper.
Cromatico can´t help but impress with its beautiful colours, interesting feel and fine surface. As compared to normally produced paper with the standard smoothness (sheet thickness for 100 g/m² paper is 0.1 mm, for 60 g/m² it is 0.06 mm), its volume per unit of weight is about 0.8 times as much. As a result, it is denser and has a fine but highly closed surface.
Cromatico can be printed using all the usual printing processes. We have even had good results when using coloured and black laser as well as black ink-jet printing (ink-jet ink takes longer to dry, large areas covered with toner will tend to flake and peel). Before doing any large scale printing, you should definitely make a test run because not all laser and ink-jet printers are alike. Folding transparent paper is different from folding other papers because the folds will become somewhat lighter in colour and, in grammages over 125 g/m², will tend to break. The Copic Multiliner is particularly good for writing on this transparent paper. The following pens should not be used: ballpoint pens, Staedtler Triplus Roller and similar.
Cromatico can be used for anything that should be beautiful: invitations, business cards, stationery, calling cards, drawing or sketching paper or for really special sheet protectors.
