The transparent, double-sided adhesive tape consists of polyester film, which is coated on both sides with a modified solvent acrylate adhesive. The adhesive makes it extremely resistant to UV radiation, high and low temperatures, chemicals, moisture, and solvents.
With its high adhesive strength, you can use Orabond 1397 Sticky Tape to glue laminated or heavier Shoji papers in Shoji wooden frames, or to attach foils or paper to lampshade frames. In general, Orabond is suitable for high-strength bonds on smooth to slightly rough surfaces that are exposed to high mechanical stress and shear forces.
The best permanent adhesion is achieved by 1397 sticky tape on smooth surfaces such as metal, paint and high-energy plastics (polystyrene, PET, PVC…). It's adhesive strength is also effective on low-energy plastic surfaces (for example, PP, PE) and is much higher than with other adhesive tapes. The transparent tape has a high initial adhesion, but the acrylate adhesive does not achieve its full adhesive force until after 24 hours.
