Faber-Castell colored pencils add color to your pictures. Regardless of whether you choose the company's children's or artist's pencils: You can be sure of high-quality pigments, secondary-glued leads and wood from sustainable forestry.
Just like the traditional company's pencils, Faber-Castell colored pencils also score points with their impressive quality. The leads are highly pigmented and therefore rich in color. They are secondary glued, which means that they are glued to the barrel over their entire length and not just at certain points. This ensures that they break less quickly if you accidentally drop the pencils or sharpen them. The wood used for the shaft comes from certified, sustainable forestry. Where possible, it is knot-free and evenly grown. This makes Faber-Castell colored pencils pleasantly easy to sharpen.
Good to know: Faber-Castell colored pencils can be sharpened very finely, making them suitable for filigree work. When shaping the lead, make sure that the blade of your sharpener is sharp. This prevents mine breakage.
The Faber-Castell colored pencils in the Play and Learn category are tailored to the needs of young artists. Their ergonomic shape makes them easy for small hands to grip, hold and use without tiring. The pigments used are toxicologically safe. The paint used is water-soluble, so it is not a problem if children tend to nibble on the end of the pencil when they are lost in thought.
Models in the Classic Colour range are standard-sized colored pencils with bright colors and a hexagonal barrel. They are available as sets in various sizes. Faber-Castell's bicolor coloured pencils offer double the power. They have a split lead and two tips. This means that each individual pencil provides you with two colors.
Does your child like to have a firm grip on everything? Then Faber-Castell colored pencils from the Colour Grip range are the right choice. They have an ergonomic triangular shape and a patented grip zone with fine nubs. The unbreakable lead provides a soft stroke that can be colored on paper with water. If the pens accompany your offspring to school, the name field is a practical detail. It ensures that the kids don't mix up their Faber-Castell colored pencils.
Do the Faber-Castell Color Grip pencils still seem too delicate for your children? No problem - they are also available with an extra-thick lead: Faber-Castell Jumbo Grip.
The Faber-Castell Black Edition models impressively prove that you can use colored pencils not only on light-colored surfaces, but also on colored or dark papers. The color stroke of the SuperSoft lead is extra soft. The colors are vibrant. Thanks to their ergonomic triangular shape, the black shafts are always comfortable to hold.
Are you looking for a Faber-Castell colored pencil for quick sketches ans shaded color gradients? Discover the Faber-Castell Polychromos and the Faber-Castell Goldfaber.
Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils have been inspiring artists and hobby painters since 1908 with their soft and brilliantly colored strokes. The colored pencils are not only excellent for coloring, break-proof, smudge-proof and waterproof, but also unsurpassed lightfast. You can choose from a total of 120 colors. The colored pencils therefore easily live up to their name, which comes from the Greek for "many colors".
Good to know: The luminosity of Faber-Castell Polychromos doesn't just come into its own on classic drawing surfaces. You can also use the pens on dark paper, wood, stone and even leather. Please note that the smudge resistance varies depending on the material and that the different textures will affect your stroke.
Tip: To vary the line width, you can change the angle at which the pen hits the paper as well as the pressure you apply when drawing. A flat angle creates a wider line. Stronger pressure makes your line more colorful.
The Faber-Castell Goldfaber colored pencils have a soft and intense color stroke. Their lead consists of high-quality pigments and waxes as an impregnating agent. The pencils impress with optimal coloring, smudge-proof and waterproof properties as well as particularly lightfast characteristics.
Tip: If you want to darken your work, there are various options. Faber-Castell recommends using black, grey or a complementary color. You can lighten your work with a white colored pencil or a variant in a different, lighter color.
Interesting fact: The color names of the various Faber-Castell products in the Art & Graphic range are the same. This means you can easily combine your colored pencils with a Pitt Artist Pen B, for example.
Faber-Castell watercolor pencils are suitable for dry and wet techniques. You can use them for classic drawing, hatching, rubbing and much more. A brush and a little water are then all you need to dissolve the pigments and transform your work into a watercolor.
You can choose from the Goldfaber Aqua and Albrecht Dürer watercolor pencils.
The 3.3 mm thick leads of the Goldfaber Aqua watercolor pencils are highly pigmented and lightfast. The stroke is soft, the effect rich. The intensity of the colors is determined on the one hand by the color application. On the other hand, you can influence it by the amount of water used when you transform your pencil drawing into a watercolor. The range includes 48 different shades.
The Albrecht Dürer range, designed for particularly demanding work, gives you more choice. It offers 120 different shades. The 3.8 mm thick leads of the pencils are highly pigmented, lightfast and brilliantly colored. They offer a soft, rich mark that can be completely colored in with water. Like the Polychromos colored pencils, the pencils in the Albrecht Dürer range can be used on more than just paper.
Tips: Experiment! Try out how the watercolor pencils behave on wet paper and what effect you can achieve by layering several layers of paint on top of each other. Bear in mind that paper curls when it comes into contact with water. To prevent this, you can use a glued watercolor block. If you are the kind of person who likes to express their creativity on the go and when traveling, we recommend a watercolour brush. It makes watercoloring your drawings particularly comfortable.
