Whether for your child's birthday crown, self-made stamps or to pimp invitations and greetings cards: sponge rubber is often underestimated, as it offers you an incredible number of possibilities to put your creative ideas into practice.

By definition, sponge rubber is an open-cell expanded rubber made from natural and synthetic rubber. It is sponge-porous on the inside, but always has a dense outer skin, making it an integral foam. Profiles and cords made of sponge rubber are mainly used as seals.

The sheets offered on the market as sponge rubber are closed-cell and therefore not actually sponge rubber sheets. They are made of EVA and are characterized by good resistance to light and hot air (130 °C, briefly up to 150 °C), but are hardly elastic in the cold. Please note that the colors of the sponge rubber may vary from delivery to delivery due to the manufacturing process. Foam rubber is suitable as a children's toy, but should not be swallowed.

Foam rubber can be cut with a cutter or scissors. It can be glued with contact adhesives (e.g. Pattex) or reaction adhesives (based on cyanoacrylate or polyurethane) as well as with all-purpose glue for handicrafts.
