This handicraft and decoration felt conforms to the European norm DIN EN 71, Part 2 and 3 (toy safety) as well as the ISO E04 norm (colour fastness to perspiration and saliva). It is also certified as conforming to Oecotex Standard 100 requirements for health safety. It is therefore suitable for basic handicrafts work as well as for demanding decorations. Self-adhesive felt is easier to work with than other felts: it can simply be removed (using water) after using it, or even if you do not like the way it looks. This felt will glue to wood, glass, metal and practically all the plastics. Wood and other porous materials like particle board or hardboard should be primed with a primer or painted with a coat of finishing varnish (an acrylic-based version would be best). The surface area must of course be free of grease and dust.

When applying the felt, the following method is recommended: first align the felt to the intended area correctly, making sure to allow for some overhang along all the sides. Then lift away about 10 cm of the protective paper cover at the beginning of the roll along the entire width of the felt, bend the lifted paper out of the way and begin pressing the felt into place. Then unroll the felt to the point of the exposed glue and, with the successive removal of the protective paper, press the felt completely into place. Finally, press firmly down on the entire piece of felt (e.g., with a PRESSURE ROLLER). Remember, the longer you press, the better it sticks. In many cases, applying pressure to the entire area all at once can help to ensure good adherence. When all else is done, you should then cut away the overhang at the edges with a scissors or a knife.

The felt can be removed by applying ample water (1 square metre felt requires about 1 liter of water). When the glue layer is soaked through – this can take up to two or three hours depending on the length of time it was glued and the ambient temperature – it can then be easily pulled free. Any remaining residue can be removed with a cloth, a brush or, if needs be, with a SPATULA. When removed in this manner the felt is not harmful to the environment and can be thrown away with the normal household trash.
