The through-dyed MDF is not only a different color to conventional brown MDF, it is also more resilient in several respects. Due to the higher density, the homogeneous density profile and the higher quality glue additives, the boards are very easy to mill and even (milled) joints close to the edges tend to break out less. Also due to the glue mixture it contains, through-dyed MDF is more resistant to moisture and does not swell immediately when it comes into contact with water.
Colored MDF is used wherever the material should remain visible, primarily in furniture construction and individual interior design or exhibition stand construction. We recommend oiling the material to make the colors appear even more intense. This makes the colors clearer and brighter and the pale character of the boards disappears. At the same time, much of the original material character is retained.
