Qualitatively sophisticated and yet reasonably priced: The Modulor linoleum tabletop with oak edge scores as a convincing alternative to our standard linoleum tabletop.
The processing
The board core consists of a 25 mm thick, certified and thus almost pollutant-free chipboard with a melamine resin coating on both sides. Since the 2 mm thick desktop linoleum is applied by means of contact adhesive, the board does not require a countermove on the underside of the board. Made of solid, untreated oak wood, the lipping is not applied before the board is coated and then finished by hand, as is the case with our standard linoleum boards. Instead, the finishing is done by machine and following the bonding of the surface and board core. If you look at the tabletop from above, you can see the narrow wooden edge for this reason.
Comfort and properties of linoleum
However, all these manufacturing details do not change the comfort offered by the natural linoleum made of linseed oil, jute, wood and limestone flour. The lightfast, silk-matt surface has a pleasantly warm feel. Its material-typical elasticity makes the tabletop a good choice as a writing and drawing surface. In addition, the linoleum is antistatic and extremely forgiving when it comes to the visibility of fingerprints. Two points that work in your favor when it comes to caring for your tabletop.
Cleaning and maintenance
It is usually sufficient to wipe a linoleum top with a soft cloth until damp. To remove dirt, you can use special cleaning agents. To seal the real wood edges, we recommend you to treat them with countertop oil before using the board. Afterwards, it is also possible to clean them easily with a damp cloth.
Choice of colors and sizes
You can choose between the most popular Lino colors and sizes when selecting a Modulor linoleum tabletop with oak edge: Light gray and black versions are available in 80 x 160 and 90 x 180 cm sizes.
Flexible design options
Whether you combine your desired version with an E2 table frame or two table trestles is up to you. The tabletop is so stable that you can use it without supporting table frames.
Fair production conditions
The linoleum tabletops are manufactured north of Berlin in a medium-sized joinery under fair working conditions. The joinery with 35 employees was awarded the Brandenburg Environmental Seal in 2022 and covers, for example, its own electricity needs to 75% with its own PV system.
