The finds tell of love, theft, neighborhood disputes and all sorts of curiosities like escaped leopards and lost unicorns. Thus they have become a completely independent medium, an "urban, analogue everyday cultural communication", as Joab Nist, the founder of NOTES OF BERLIN, calls it.

The blog is fed by the submissions Nist receives and curates daily from his community. The site now reaches up to one million clicks per month, and Notes of Berlin now has over 100,000 fans on Facebook. Anyone can join in, and so the Notes archive grows daily. The blogger is always fascinated by the design variety of the paper messages. 

Joab Nist (*1983) is a cultural scientist from Munich and found his first Berlin apartment in 2004 through a note he had written, which he hung up at Helmholtzplatz in Prenzlauer Berg.
