Orabond 1811 is a strong, double-sided mounting tape for attaching acrylic glass mirrors and plastic parts such as panels, mouldings, displays, or cable ducts. Hooks, signs, and holders can be equipped for a strong grip with the self-adhesive foamed tape.
On smooth materials such as metal, glass, polycarbonate, ABS, and hard PVC, but also rough and critical surfaces, the thick mirror adhesive tape proves that it provides a high initial bond. Due to its high resistance to UV radiation, water, and aging, Orabond 1811 is also suitable for outdoor applications.
Processing
Before adhesion, the surface should be cleaned and any loose particles removed. For a high bonding strength, strong pressure (with a squeegee or pressure roller) is recommended to ensure immediate surface contact. Orabond 1811 has excellent initial adhesion and is fully resilient after approximately one day.
The tape should be glued vertically and distributed evenly over the surface (see Downloads). The length of a single adhesive strip must not exceed 50 cm. Therefore, if a longer distance needs to be covered, the strip must be interrupted in order to prevent tearing in the event of removal. For secure mirror bonding, the total area bonded with Orabond 1811 should be at least 60 cm²/kg based on mirror weight (16.6 g/cm²).
