You can use the small, round millet shells as a filling for very cuddly, well-supporting pillows or comfortable orthopedic seat and positioning cushions (nursing pillows!). In contrast to loud spelled husks, millet husks give only a soft trickle when you move the pillow.
A millet shell filling remains loose and air-permeable for a long time. This regulates moisture and excess heat so that you sweat less at night. Millet husks contain a lot of silica, which acts on the organs through the skin and has a calming and antispasmodic effect on muscles and nerves. A millet pillow can therefore help you naturally with sleep disorders, migraines, or tension in the neck and back muscles.
Regular shaking and airing in the sun will keep your millet pillow in shape for a long time. For reasons of hygiene, however, you should replace the filling after 3–5 years. If you put the (non-washable) bowls in a cushion cover fill with zipper, you can take it out to wash the cover. Washing the cover is even easier if you put the bowls in a separate, removable inlet.
