Riveted boxes are made of gray cardboard and laminated with baking soda paper. Neither material is permanently archival safe, as they are not considered acid-free. The brown boxes are a change of color from our slip lid boxes, anthracite. On the brown natron paper you can write well with black markers and pens the boxes.
