TFC kneading silicone rubber Type 5 is an addition-crosslinking kneading silicone, which allows precise modeling with high drawing precision. Due to its low shrinkage, it is extremely dimension-stable. The material does not adhere, is physiologically harmless and has excellent mechanical properties. The Type 5 kneading silicone is therefore perfect for duplicating, e.g. in modeling and mold-making, as a form and design mass, as well as for shaping on vertical objects or surfaces.
With TFC silicone Type 5, both single and multi-part molds can be produced. Impressions can be made of original models made of wood, glass, metal, plastic, wax, and ceramic casting compounds. All water-soluble or solvent-containing casting materials can be cast into the molds produced.
The water-soluble casting compounds include, for example, relief casting compounds such as Stewalin, Plastalin Super, Keraflott or gypsum, Keramin, Alabit, modeling and building plaster, cast clay, cement, concrete, etc. For solvent-containing casting compounds, e.g. resin and epoxy resin, the mold should be pretreated with a release agent, since casting resins can lead to embrittlement of the mold after repeated casting. Seed casting compounds (soap-glycerin), for the production of soap or waxes for the production of candles, can also easily be brought into the molds.
This is how it works
For processing, the two components, A (red) and B (white) are kneaded intensively and rapidly for approximately 45 seconds to create a streak-free, homogeneous, uniform light-red mixture. For removal and mixing, please use vinyl gloves instead of latex as latex will lengthen (or even prevent) the setting time. When mixing with bare hands, the setting time may be shortened. The mixing, processing, and curing times are shortened at temperatures above 23 °C and extend at lower temperatures. Please note that a higher dosage of the catalyst (component B in white) does not accelerate the setting process.
We have updated our product range. TFC silicone rubber type 5 replaces Alpa Megaplast 1:1 and Gedeo Siligum.
