TFC silicone rubber Type 6 is an addition-curing, two-component silicone rubber which has been tested for use with foodstuffs and is safe for food and consumer goods according to the provisions of Section 5 (1) No. 1 of the Food and Consumer Goods Act of 09.03.1997 (BGBL 1997 p. 2297 – 2319 BfR). Therefore, this rubber is ideal for food materials such as chocolate, marzipan, ice blends, ice cream, etc. The molded shapes are elastic and durable and can have pronounced undercuts.
All water-soluble casting materials can be cast from the molds prepared, e.g. relief casting compounds such as Stewalin, Plastalin Super, Keraflott or gypsum, Keramin, Alabit, modeling and model-building plaster, cast clay, cement, concrete, etc., including soaps and candle molds. The mold should be pretreated with a release agent beforehand since casting resins can lead to embrittlement of the mold after repeated casting.
The forms produced can also be used as baking molds. For this purpose, the mold is correspondingly preheated (annealed) during production. Thus, it is possible to achieve a permanent-temperature resistance of up to about 240 °C.
