TFC Xyrarock casting powder is a synthetic, gypsum-based and plastic-refined product that is primarily suitable for casting figures, models, works of art and decorations. It is easy to work with and hardens quickly without any additives. Firing is not necessary and the casting result has an almost ceramic hardness. The level of detail is high. The deep black coloring, which is almost impossible to achieve with conventional plaster and added pigments, gives your work a unique and elegant appearance.
Here's how
Mix four parts by weight of casting powder with one part by weight of water. Slowly sprinkle the powder into the water and stir everything vigorously for about a minute until a uniform, flowable mixture is formed. You can ensure that any air bubbles are released by shaking the container.
Then fill your prepared mold about halfway and spread the casting compound with a brush. In this way, more air bubbles will escape and the casting compound will also reach hard-to-reach areas of the mold. Then fill in the rest of the casting compound and leave everything to harden.
The hardening process begins after just 10 minutes and heat can build up to over 45 °C. Avoid contact with the skin. Therefore, avoid contact with the skin or sensitive objects. The casting can be removed after about 30 minutes. It will be fully cured after a total of 24 hours. You can design it with all common colors.
