The transfer foil is a key accessory when working with adhesive foils. If you want to transfer cut or plotted lettering/motifs to surfaces such as signs, windows, bags, mugs, T-shirts, etc., the result depends largely on the quality of the transfer film. The result depends largely on the quality of the transfer film.
It is a disaster if all the effort put into a motif is in vain because something goes wrong during the transfer. The transfer film has to fulfill 2 tasks here: It must completely detach the plotted motif from the carrier material and completely detach from the motif again after transfer to the substrate. This poses a particular challenge for the adhesive of the transfer film.
We have opted for transfer films from ABI TAPE. ABI TAPE has set itself the task of offering the perfect transfer film for every application under the TRANSFERRITE label. For example, ABI TAPE has developed an adhesive whose adhesive strength is immediately very good (reliably removes the motif from the carrier material) and does not increase or decrease over time. As a result, even motifs that have been in place for a little longer still detach very well from the transfer film.
We opted for 2 films with different adhesive strengths. A number of factors play a role in choosing the right transfer film: how large and fine is the motif, what surface/texture does my plotted film have and what substrate should the motif be applied to? As a guide, it is best to consider the following three points:
We describe the adhesive strength of film 1310 as medium. It is suitable for most applications and can be used universally. With the 1310, motifs made of plastic film can also be transferred very well to sensitive surfaces.
If you are looking for a film with stronger adhesive strength, please choose the 1320 variant, which is particularly suitable for small and fine motifs and closed-pore, smooth surfaces (glass, plastic, porcelain).
As always, we recommend a product test before final use. This can be done cost-effectively, as we also offer both variants as A4 and A3 sheets.
