The simple cable channel provides organization underneath writing and working tables. Multiple plugs, PC, telephone, and printer cables disappear into the clear and straight-line folded cable tray. In this way, it ensures not only a tidy appearance but also safety: It prevents the cables from getting caught on something (or you) and unsightly cable clutter that cause tripping. The positive side effect of this steward of tidiness: legroom.

The cable channel is made of powder-coated steel and is suitable for mounting on all Modulor table series. This makes safe and easy mounting possible: The cable tray is screwed directly to the tabletop. The tray makes an impression with its 3 modest colors and details. A strain relief clip prevents, for example, slippage of multiple plugs stored in the tray along with connected supply lines.

The inconspicuous PC holder is a practical addition to our Modulor table racks. In three subtle colors including a black mounting strap, it holds mini-, mid- and full-towers securely in place.

The PC holder is suitable for all Modulor table series. This makes safe and easy mounting possible. The holder is screwed directly to the tabletop. The black polypropylene mounting strap, including key lock buckle, is adjustable in length and can, therefore, react flexibly to changing computer sizes. While conventional PC holders are primarily very solid and stable, the holder made of powder-coated steel stands out with thoughtful and reduced material processing as well as variability and sufficient stability. For a good price, you'll receive a high-quality product in a conservative design. The holder is made in Germany.

Leaving a work surface tidy so that you can get back to work fresh the next day is child's play with the Modulor desk drawer. The minimalist drawer helps to quickly and unobtrusively stow away the many small work utensils that are often scattered all over the desk.

Made of powder-coated steel and available in white and black, the drawer fits discreetly under the table top. It is only visible when you look underneath it. To ensure that the drawer and table frame do not interfere with each other, the table frame should follow the edge of the table or run around it. The flat storage compartment is screwed directly to the underside of the table top. Wood screws are included in the scope of delivery for screwing the drawer to the underside of the table top.

The front of the drawer forms a plain surface, the upper edge of which is folded forward by about 10 mm. The handle formed in this way is easy to feel and the drawer can be pulled open immediately. With a width of 850 mm and a depth of 250 mm, it can be used to store not only papers, stationery, rulers, scissors and folders, but also smartphones, tablets and laptops.

The desktop lamp L1 is the absolute classic among the so-called self-supporting jointed arm lamps and the most famous one in the world (it sold more than 25 million worldwide!). It was designed as long ago as 1937 by the Norwegian designer and founder of the firm Luxo, Jac Jacobsen (born 1901, died 1996). It can be seen being exhibited in many museums and has garnered many prizes for its brilliant design. This lamp was also used by Pixar in its opening credits for its animation films and was even the star of a Pixar short film called “Luxo Jr.”

The construction of the L-1 is based on an articulation principle called “anglepoise” which was developed for another table lamp in 1933 by George Carwardine. The articulation principle itself was based on the functioning of the human arm. In contrast to the many knock-offs of this lamp, the original’s unique features still continue to impress. These include its long arm and its high quality springs that, even after decades of use, are still able to hold the lamp in any position in which it has been placed.

Comeback is a classic stackable steel-tube chair, millions of which could be found in the DDR under the name “Modell 3101” – it was used for seating in large spaces, in restaurants, casinos, campus dining halls, canteens as well as for private furnishings. In those days, however, the seat and the backrest were made from pressboard covered with imitation leather. For a number of years L&C Stendal have been producing this time-tested model again but this time with technical improvements – all of which have contributed to the model’s “Comeback”. The inelaborate and functional appearance of the Comeback and the fact that it was made by the long-established steel tube manufacturing company L&C Stendal with its tradition of high quality and was being offered at a very attractive price led us to embrace the Comeback in our product line.

The furniture manufacturer L&C Stendal has a long tradition in Germany. In 1889, Louis Arnold, an iron dealer, and his son Carl founded the iron furniture factory L.&C. Arnold in Stendal which, beginning in 1926, specialized in the production of garden furniture and bed frames and developed into the leading steel tube manufacturer in Europe. The foldable garden chair No. 2 was an especially popular best seller, one that even today is considered a true classic among beer garden chairs. In 1927 L.&C. Arnold displayed at the Werkbund (Work Federation) Exhibition “The Domicile” in Stuttgart a “device” designed by Mart Stam and manufactured by Arnold: the first chair without hind legs (cantilever chair). A close relationship developed in those years between Stendal and the designers from the Bauhaus School with the result that many of those designs were produced by Stendal. After 1945, the factory in Stendal was called “VEB STIMA”; it manufactured chairs, tables and beds for the DDR market and for export. After Germany reunited, the company concentrated more and more on the production of Bauhaus furniture classics and expanded that program with the “Stendal Collection” in which re-editions from the 1950´s as well as new designs were manufactured with the same demands for quality and consistent design that had always been its hallmark.

The main focus of the design of Modulor´s work stool is healthy as well as active sitting at the workplace. A ring running below the whole circumference of the stool´s seat provides the means for easily adjusting the seat´s height, which tends to encourage an erect sitting posture. The Modulor work stool is built in a modular construction system consisting of a 5-pointed star base with castors, a gas strut, a seat support with a release ring and a round seating surface. All the parts are either screwed or plugged into place and, if necessary, can be replaced individually. This stool has soft castors for use on hard flooring.

Please note that this stool is not suitable for use as a standing aid (too unstable!).

Stylish round tabletops with linoleum coating. Exceptional haptics (feel) and two elegant material combinations: MDF tabletop core with Linoleum coating in anthracite or multiplex tabletop core with Linoleum coating in vapour.

Our high quality linoleum tabletop with the bevelled edge has an edge bevel of about 25°. This special edge, which is also called a chamfer, angles down on the underside of the tabletop all the way to the middle. This accords the tabletop an elegant, intricate and less bulky appearance despite its great sturdiness. When used in combination with, e.g., a Y table frame (cross connectors + table legs), this linoleum tabletop looks noticeably thinner from a distance and seems to be almost hovering!

Linoleum – A unique and durable tabletop surfacing material

Linoleum is made from renewable raw materials such as wood, granulated cork, linseed oil and jute. Its homogeneous, matte but nevertheless non-slip surface is perfect for drawing or writing.  The material feels good to the touch, has anti-bacterial and antistatic properties and conducts electricity (its bleeder and contact resistance is between app. 109 and 1010 Ω). Because of these attributes, linoleum covered table tops are perfect for use in the therapeutic and technical realms. On top they make great writing tables but can be used as shelving or kitchen counters as well (short-term heat-resistance up to 70°C ).

A Valchromat or Multiplex core

You can choose a Linoleum coating with a tabletop core made of exquisite fully coloured MDF – so called Valchromat – both in anthracite. The noble alternative is a Linoleum coating in vapour with a classic multiplex core made of birch plywood. The edges of all tabletops are untreated, open-pored, sanded as well as moisture resistant and resilient.

The Y table frame with cross connector and the table frame M with frame rails of one size at each side are the ideal and stable base for both round Linoleum tabletops.

Good to know

Care and cleaning of linoleum is best done with special agents like Harell care and cleaning set for linoleum, which can be found in our product assortment. If you want, the edge can be treated and sealed with Biofarben hard oil or work top oil.

The colour of the linoleum coating that you see at the time of delivery will change slightly with time. The reason for this is the light yellow “drying-oven film” which will eventually disappear after the coating has been out in the daylight for a number of hours.
